    This course introduces students to the laws, regulations, standards, policies, procedures and best practices for children, birth to middle childhood, related to child health, safety, nutrition, and care in an educational setting. The course focuses on key components that ensure physical health, mental health, and safety for both children and staff. It includes the role of the teacher in prevention strategies, nutrition and meal planning, and integrating health and safety experiences into daily routines, program development, and risk management. Students will learn about the importance of collaboration with families and health professionals.
