    Description
    This course will introduce students to the fundamental skill of sight translation. Students will learn how to comply with the legal equivalence requirements of this mode of interpretation. There will be emphasis on reviewing the necessary reading comprehension skills, acquiring the ability to analyze text upon first reading, acquiring vocabulary research skills, expanding vocabulary and understanding the role of the interpreter. Students will practice paraphrasing, chunking, prediction and expanding and condensing exercises to finally develop the skills necessary for performing sight translation of complex texts.
