    Description
    This is the first in a two-course sequence designed for heritage speakers of Spanish. Students will employ and develop reading, writing,oral expression, and critical thinking skills through assignments, discussions and cultural historical presentations based on Spanish and Latin American essays, short stories, and journalistic writings. Students will increase awareness of linguistic registers, English interference, and dialectal differences. Students will develop an appreciation for the cultures of Spanish speaking communities and will demonstrate the ability to make cross cultural comparisons. This course is taught entirely in Spanish.
