Students will learn the processes of treatment, patient-centered approach and how to overcome obstacles when providing individualized patient care. Important cultural competency is reviewed in great detail in order to better understand the concerns that need to be addressed to improve human services. Through the use of case studies, implications that providers and service seekers encounter will be discussed. A review of the level of service provided will assist in understanding standards and credentialing in the field of mental and behavioral health.
