Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionThis introduction course to drug use and recovery reviews the increasing problem of drug use among at-risk populations. A general analysis of drug use will be evaluated to better understand the impact of drug use on the health-span of patients and the importance of seeking human services to decrease relapse. Scope of practice and the problem of drug use will be reviewed and compared to the number of different drugs that are available and are used by at-risk populations. Substances used by various ages, socioeconomic statuses, and ethnic backgrounds will be the focus of this course. In addition, an in-depth analysis of the use of medical and behavioral health interventions implemented in recovery when providing services to patients with various disorders that developed when drugs are used will be reviewed.
