    This course covers the political, cultural, and philosophical development of Western culture and society through the study of the institutions, thought, literary and artistic expression of the ancient world and medieval society of Europe to the Reformation (1600 C.E.). It is intended to be a chronological approach which introduces the ideas and accomplishments of significant men and women in each period. (C-ID HIST 170)
