    Description
Students will critically explore the phenomena of race and ethnicity in the history of the United States. Examining the socio-political realities of power, students analyze the processes by which racial stratification occur. Particular emphasis is placed on the socio-historical experiences of major, subordinate ethnic groups in America --African Americans, Latina/o Americans, Asian Americans, and Native Americans. Students critically analyze major theoretical approaches to understanding the circumstances that have shaped present race relations in America and various Ethnic Studies paradigms. (C-ID SOCI 150)
