Students will read and discuss significant examples of epic, lyric, drama and prose writings of the finest authors writing in England and the British Empire from the Anglo Saxon, Anglo-Norman, Middle English, Renaissance, Restoration and 18th Century periods. The course will contain lectures, discussions, group work, and other student-centered learning activities. Evaluations will be based on in- and out-of-class analytical essays, exams, research reports, and class work. (C-ID ENGL 160; ENGL-LIT 160)
