Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course introduces principles and the application of landscape architecture and urban design in the context of Southern California. With a focus on sustainable design strategies, students will learn about spatial design and sequencing, site preparation and planting design, and place-making. Students will also explore the role ecological factors have in shaping our built and natural environments. Topics such as resiliency, regeneration, habitat restoration, and place-making will engage students in the practice of site analysis, mapping, diagramming, and master planning to represent design solutions that address some of the most pressing ecological challenges we face today.
