Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is a study of the basic techniques of jazz improvisation. Emphasis is placed on the study and application of scales, chords, patterns, and "licks" used by musicians to create improvisations on tonal, modal, and blues-based songs. Except for keyboards, amplifiers and drums, students must provide their own instruments for classroom performances.
