Topics covered include patient rights, communication and interpersonal skills, safe environment, body mechanics, principles of asepsis, weights and measures, resident care skills and procedures, vital signs, nutrition, emergency procedures, long-term care, rehabilitative/restorative care, observation and charting, and death and dying. Successful completion of the this course enables students to take California's Nurse Assistant Competency Exam to become a Certified Nurse Assistant.
