Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course introduces students to competency-based management in the field of recreation and leisure. Students examine the scope of management responsibilities and how management can affect an agency and its customers. With emphasis on specific management areas, students examine financial management, marketing, human resources, employee development, communication, and evaluation. To broaden students' perspectives, additional topics include strategies for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, reducing prejudice, and building competencies for addressing interpersonal and systemic challenges. This course also prepares students for the Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) qualifying exam.
