    This course introduces the principles and philosophies of outdoor recreation. Emphasis is on creating optimal learning opportunities in outdoor environments, designing effective lessons, and identifying methods that are best for the participants and the environment. Additional topics in outdoor recreation include risk management, safety, recreational trends, employment opportunities, health benefits, and cultural and social issues.
