    This course introduces Public Relations as the val- ues-driven management of relationships with groups of people that can influence an organization's success and examines how organizations can ethically and system- atically build productive, mutually beneficial relation- ships with such groups. The course is an introduction into the field, potential careers and highlights key differences between PR, Marketing and Advertising. These core courses provide in-depth information on gaining employ- ment as a Physical Therapy Aide in environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, private practices, rehabilitation centers, and sports medicine clinics. A personal trainer may specialize in a certain train- ing type, training philosophy, performance type, exer- cise modality, and/or client population. Personal training accreditation is a process that provides certification of competency as a personal trainer. Physical Therapy Aide (Academic Plan E038704D) The East Los Angeles College Kinesiology Physical Therapy (PT) Aide Certification of Achievement program will pro- vide students with the education, training, and hands on experience needed to enter into a physical therapy field. This certification is an entry level program designed for students interested in entering the field of physical ther- apy. The physical therapy aide is generally responsible for carrying out the non-technical duties of physical therapy, such as preparing treatment areas, ordering devices and supplies, and transporting patients. Under the direction of a physical therapist or physical therapy assistant, an aide will provide services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. The physi- cal therapy aide may be employed in a variety of settings Kinesiology Department including: hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, home care agencies, outpatient clinics, community health centers and sports medicine clinics. Recreation Specialist (Academic Plan E045414D) The Recreation Specialist Certificate of Achievement pro- gram prepares students with essential knowledge and practical skills to embark on entry-level careers in the dynamic recreation industry. This program delivers a well- rounded education in core areas such as recreation man- agement, inclusive leisure programming, and commu- nity wellness. Through hands-on experience and exposure to industry best practices, students will learn to design and implement engaging recreational activities tailored to diverse community needs. This program equips students with the expertise to teach yoga safely and effectively across a range of levels and abilities. The curriculum includes in-depth studies in yoga theory, anat- omy and physiology, philosophical foundations, class sequencing, personal practice, and yoga history. Upon completion, graduates are prepared to pursue opportunities in health clubs, wellness centers, spas, yoga/ dance studios, or as private yoga instructors. Recreation and Leisure Studies, Associate in Arts Degree (Academic Plan E043725C) The Recreation and Leisure Studies AA program provides students with the education, training, and hands-on expe- rience needed to enter the field of recreation, parks, and leisure industries. Students learn basic service industry skills necessary for successful employment in the recre- ation, leisure, and parks field. This program is designed to meet the needs of students interested in seeking entry- level employment in a wide range of positions within the recreational industry. Career opportunities include recre- ation attendant, program coordinator, event planner, rec- reation program leader, corporate wellness, pool man- ager, camp counselor, theme park attendant, and other related occupations.
