- This course covers diabetes mellitus, with emphasis on positive self-care choices. Aspects of current diabetes management are covered: Blood glucose testing, oral hypoglycemics, insulin, exercise, and pregnancy. Also included are the prevention and recognition of diabetes complications affecting eyes, kidneys, nerves, feet, and heart/blood vessels. Hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia are also covered.
