    Description
    This pre-performance level dance course advances acquired techniques and knowledge of a complete con- ditioning for dance class with emphasis placed on the development of stylistic nuances and dynamic range for dancer performance. Artistic development of per- formance components and advancement in condition- ing techniques are applied to acquired skills learned in previous dance conditioning programs. Students apply knowledge of codified terminology, dancer technique and training, musical phrasing, and performance skills to exist- ing dance technique vocabulary for the purpose of stage performance preparation. Dancer marketing materi- als, including dance resume, bio and head shots are dis- cussed. Simulation of professional dance auditions further prepare students for real-life audition processes. Engineering and Technologies Department Engineering and Technologies Department E7-104 � (323) 265-8858 The Engineering and Technologies (E&T) Department at ELAC was established in 1945 and offers a comprehen- sive E&T program in the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). The department offers programs and courses in engineering transfer as well as Career Techni- cal Education (CTE) courses that are not only hands-on and designed to prepare students with lower division course requirements for transfer to a four-year engineer- ing program at a junior level, but also offers CTE pro- grams in high-demand, high-wage jobs that specialize in the modern technologies in applied sciences and career preparation. The learning is greatly enhanced by faculty interaction with students in hands-on projects, small class size, and continual guidance from faculty mentors, STEM counselors, and club advisors. In addition, all the engi- neering courses are transferable to either University of California or California State University systems depend- ing on the requirements of the four-year engineering school of their choice. Furthermore, the department's Engineering Club pro- vides several leadership opportunities to student mem- bers. The club is comprised of sub-organizations, includ- ing Geo-Huskies, Engineering Surveying Society, Civil and Environmental Engineering Student Organization, that cater to the needs of the various engineering and technol- ogy disciplines as well as the student body. In addition, the club serves the ELAC student body and its community via the five pillars of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engi- neers (SHPE) organization. Finally, the department is excited to announce that many more programs in engineering transfer and CTE are being developed to help make ELAC one of the top engineer- ing and technology departments in the State of Califor- nia. Currently, we have three state-approved programs in Engineering Technology, as well as an Associate Degree and various Certificate of Achievement Programs and Skills Certificates in Engineering Graphics and Design Technology (EGD), Geo-Spatial Engineering and Technol- ogies (GSET), and a program which includes all stages of the statewide Information Technologies Technician Path- way (IT). Engineering Technology: Advanced Manufacturing Associate in Science Degree (Academic Plan E040042C) The Engineering Technician: Advanced Manufacturing program is designed to train the students and the work- force in high-growth and high-demand technologies such as; Additive Manufacturing - 3D printing of Polymers and Metals, CNC programming with Mastercam and Operator training in addition to computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM). Geo-Spatial Engineering and Technologies, Associate in Science Degree (Academic Plan E038337C) The Geospatial Engineering and Technologies (GSET) Associate in Science Degree program at ELAC is structured to produce qualified geospatial engineering technicians by offering relevant technical courses and business prac- tices primarily in land surveying, but also in civil and geo- spatial engineering. Students use state-of-the-art equip- ment to perform practical and advanced forms of design and analysis for land surveying and civil engineering land development projects. Professionals and technicians can be employed in a variety of settings, including private businesses and government agencies. Upon completing the Associate in Science Degree in Geospatial Engineering and Technologies (GSET) students can pursue careers as a professional land surveyor or technician, a cartographer or a photogrammetrist, or a civil engineering technician.
