At the ELAC Dance Department, we are committed to fos- tering a dynamic and inclusive environment where stu- dents of all backgrounds, interests, and skill levels can explore, develop, and refine their passion for dance. Whether you are an aspiring dance major, seeking to fulfill general education requirements, or simply pursuing a life- long enjoyment of movement, our program offers a com- prehensive curriculum designed to support your artistic and technical growth. With two different educational pathways in Dance at ELAC, students can also pursue applied dance or a dance per- formance pathways. The Dance Department offers a wide variety of lecture dance studies courses, dance technique courses, dance specialty courses and somatic practice courses such as Yoga and Pilates. The ELAC dance department also offers the Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Theater Arts with an emphasis in Dance. This program provides students with professional theatrical training and skills development in dance, pre- paring them for careers in entertainment or transfer to a four-year institution. Our state-of-the-art S2 Dance Building features two of the largest smart classrooms for dance technique instruction in Southern California. Additionally, we share a stunning 350-seat recital hall with the Music Department, provid- ing students with a premier venue for performances. This exceptional facility, combined with our dedicated faculty, ensures a rich and immersive learning experience.
