    Description
    This course is a survey of United States history from early colonial period through the American War with Mexico and Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo with special emphasis on the contributions of Mexican Americans. This course provides a background in the political and social development of both the United States and Mexico. In addition, this course provides students a critical understanding of Mexican-origin people, their incorporation, racialization, and social and political movements in the Southwestern United States and includes a survey of the U.S. Constitution.
