    Description
This course actively engages students in the anthropological study of language and communication, emphasizing critical analysis and application of linguistic concepts through cross-cultural perspectives. Through ethnographic research and collaborative projects, students explore how language reflects and shapes our social identities and ways of thinking about the world. This course surveys core concepts in linguistics (e.g., phonology, morphology, and syntax) and include comparative analyses of verbal and nonverbal communication, language acquisition and socialization, highlighting diverse languages and speech communities across the world.
