    Description
This course surveys world history from 1500 CE to the present, with an emphasis on the dynamic interaction of cultures and societies around the globe. The course considers the social, political, economic, cultural, and intellectual forces that shaped both major societies and less influential ones. The course examines the legacy of these forces worldwide and their contributions to present-day circumstances, including on-going tensions between tradition and modernity as well as issues of inequality, exploitation and progress. Specifically, it transcends nationalist versions of history to connect the histories of people worldwide through the global methodology of World History.
