    This course introduces basic principles of mapping and representation of spatial data using conventional and computerized cartographic techniques, and is designed to develop a better understanding of maps, map design, map interpretation, and map sharing on the web. Elements of maps such as scale, distance, direction, and map projections as well as cartographic techniques of data analysis, processing, visualization, and representation are examined in detail.
