    Description
    This course is a survey of major trends in American Cinema from 1900 to the demise of the studio system in the 1950s. Students will view films from notable artists and movements that have influenced the development of film arts around the world. In addition, students will analyze how social, economic, and historical forces shape film art, the development of global media culture, and how cinema communicates as an art form.
