    Description
This noncredit oral communication course focuses on the needs of multilingual students at the high-intermediate level. Building on ESL-075 or ESL-075NC, the course offers strategies for both understanding and being understood in real-life, academic situations. Exploring a variety of topics, students will work on oral comprehension of lectures and presentations, note-taking, and academic discussion. Students will also practice the norms of the American college classroom. The course will also present strategies for developing an awareness of their own strengths and challenges of communicating in English. Students may wish to take ESL-085NC with the ESL reading and writing course ESL-087 or ESL-087NC, at the same level.
