This course presents an in-depth investigation into current research, theories, and issues in the study of cognitive development. Emphasis is placed on understanding how children’s thinking develops and evaluation of major theories and explanations for intellectual growth. Both classic findings and state-of-the-art research are reviewed and applied to contemporary issues related to children’s cognitive and language development.
