    Description
This course covers evolution, ecology, and unification and diversity of life with a focus on the whole organism and higher levels of organization. Topics include evidence and mechanisms of evolution and speciation; evolutionary history and diversity of life; structure, function and evolutionary adaptations of organisms (including plants, fungi, animals, and unicellar organisms); general, population, and community ecology; ecosystems and environmental concerns. In laboratory, students explore these themes with hands-on observations, dissections, laboratory activities, and field exercises.
