    Description
This course is designed for non-majors and presents the principles of ecology, natural selection, speciation, and biodiversity. During field laboratories, students will survey the natural history of ecological communities in northern California to identify dominant plant and animal species in each community, and explore the influences of the physical environment on the evolutionary adaptations and ecology of the species. Human impacts on ecological systems and conservation issues are explored.
