    Description
    This is an introductory course covering the foundations of theories and philosophies of architecture, design and the built environment. Theories of design including concepts of aesthetics and functionalism in relation to their historical context are covered. A range of philosophical and theoretical approaches to architectural design are presented in their historical contexts, including ancient and classical approaches to design as well as contemporary ideas and concepts.
