    Description
    Students will continue to gain first-hand experience by working in community clinical settings that serve clients with various substance abuse problems to develop clinical competency by facilitating groups, utilizing case-management skills, and examining the clinical procedures related to addiction treatment. Students will have on-site supervision, and then debrief their experiences with fellow students by sharing what they learned, as well as the challenges of providing substance abuse services in a community clinic setting. Students will also prepare for state certification and employment by reviewing Technical Assistance Publication (TAP) 21 addiction counseling competency guidelines and refining interview skills.
