    Description
    This course focuses on the history and evolution of the relationship between the criminal justice system and the community in the United States. The roles and interrelationship of all criminal justice agencies, public and private agencies, and the community will be addressed. Topics include the concepts of crime control and prevention, police and government transparency, community partnerships, input and oversight, community-based prosecution, incarceration and rehabilitation, and social justice. There will be open discussion of issues pertaining to ethics, education, and collaboration between participants in the community and the criminal justice system.
