    Description
    This course provides an overview of private security in the retail sector. It covers the responsibilities of retail loss prevention personnel and their role in protecting the assets of the company. Topics include people, facilities and merchandise protection, employee theft investigations, customer theft investigations, including Organized Retail Crime (ORC), risk management, safety management, legal authority to conduct investigations and make arrests, counter terrorism, liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement, technology, including hardware and software, and personal and company ethics. The course also covers retail theft prevention strategies, including training and awareness, arrest techniques and legal use of force, executive protection, emergency preparedness including active shooter, and cyber security. Essential employment knowledge and skills for anyone wishing to attain a career in retail loss prevention are also covered.
