    This course presents an introduction to the theories of language acquisition and the process of language development in young children. Introduction to methods and materials that enhance emerging language and literacy for infants through school-age children in a culturally diverse society. (This course meets NAEYC Standards: 1a,1b,1c; 3a, 3b, 3c; 4b, 4c, 4d; NBPTS Standards 1-10 for ECE-Middle Years; DEC/CEC standards 1-8; and CA ECE Standards 1, 2, 5 and 8.)
