A holistic and cross-cultural perspective is used to explore political, economic, and kinship systems; language, art, and religion; race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, and class; culture change and the impact of colonialism and globalization. The course focuses on applying an anthropological perspective to contemporary social issues. As an honors course, the students will be expected to complete extra assignments to gain deeper insight into anthropology.
