Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionThis course is designated for the experienced (no less than six months documented work experience in their licensed capacity) LVN/LPT who is preparing to enter the Registered Nursing career ladder program. The course will enhance theoretical and technical nursing skills in areas such as communication, ethics, fluid and electrolytes, and pharmacology. Students will develop in-depth skill in utilization of the nursing process. Major emphasis is placed on assessment of patient's biopsychosocial needs and related interventions. This course promotes Quality & Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) competencies that incorporate patient-centered care, safety teamwork, collaboration, evidence based practice, quality improvement and informatics.
