    This course is a historical survey of the United States from the end of the Civil War to the present. The course also introduces students to historical reasoning skills. Students will explore the political, social, economic and cultural development of the United States, as well as modern American institutions, ideals, ideologies, and laws, including explorations of the U.S. and California constitutions and interactions between federal, state, and local governments. Formerly HIST 109. Not open to students with credit in HIST 109. (C-ID HIST 140) (CSU/UC) (AA/AS-4, Cal-GETC-4)
