    Description
    Prepares the student in essential blood specimen collecting skills to fulfill the State of California phlebotomy certificate requirements for a a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1). Prepares students for employment in hospitals, independent labs, physician offices, or public health clinics. Hands-on externship experience is part of the training (via corequisite PHLB 109B). The Student is required to bring a valid CA driver's license or CA photo ID card to the first class meeting to show proof of age. The student must be 18 years of age by the first class meeting to be certified.
