    Examines concepts and issues related to teaching diverse learners in today's contemporary schools. Provides a minimum of 45 hours of supervised observation and participation in cooperating public schools. Discussion focuses on California's content standards and frameworks, instructional practice, historical, philosophical and social foundations of American public education. Examines opportunities, requirements, responsibilities, new directions, and rewards in teaching. Places students in a more informed position regarding the decision to pursue a career in education.
