Advances knowledge and skills necessary for building, defending, evaluating, and refuting arguments through written composition and verbal speaking and debating for various audiences and within various rhetorical and social contexts. Includes evaluation and use of evidence, sound reasoning, and credible sources. Involves extensive writing and verbal public communicating. A minimum of 5000 words of writing is required in written student work from a combination of formal and informal writing such as debate case creation and rebuttal, essays, advocacy speech writing, self and peer evaluation, etc. Students will communicate many of their written arguments through well-prepared faculty-supervised and evaluated speeches and debates to a live audience.Usually HeldMon 11:00am–12:20pm, Tue 10:00am–12:50pm, Tue 6:00pm–7:50pm, Tue 6:00pm–9:05pm
