    Description
    Study of microbiology and immunology, emphasizing the biology of microoganisms including bacteria, fungi, protozoans, helminths, and viruses. Introduces fundamental principles of medical microbiology including microbial cultivation, metabolism, genetics, growth and control. Pathogenesis and immunity to infectious diseases is covered. Principles of epidemiology, disease transmission and a survey of communicable diseases are also included.
