Study of the fundamental principles of chemistry. Topics include atomic structure, bonding, the periodic table, stoichiometry, chemical reactions, enthalpy and nomenclature. Laboratory component is both qualitative and quantitative in scope. Critical thinking, writing, measurement, identification, and analysis skills are emphasized.
