    POLS C1000 American Government and Politics Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Prerequisite: None. Advisory: ENGL C1000 or C1000H (formerly ENGWR 300 and 480) with a grade of "C" or better. Transferable: CSU; UC General Education: Local GE L4; Cal-GETC Area 4 C-ID: C-ID POLS 110 This course was formerly known as POLS 301 Introduction to Government: United States. This course is an introduction to government and politics in the United States and California. Students examine the constitutions, structure, and operation of governing institutions, civil liberties and civil rights, political behaviors, political issues, and public policy using political science theory and methodology. This course was formerly known as POLS 301 and is not open to students who have completed POLS 301 or C1000H.
