    JOUR 300 Newswriting and Reporting Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Prerequisite: None. Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL C1000 (formerly known as ENGWR 300). Transferable: CSU C-ID: C-ID JOUR 110 This is an introductory course in basic news writing and reporting. This course concentrates on fundamental writing techniques for mass media. This course also emphasizes the legal and ethical responsibilities of the news media with critical analysis of current news reporting practices.
