Transferable: CSU; UC General Education: Local GE L3; Cal-GETC Area 3B This course examines ideas and values about the American experience in the 20th century by analyzing the literature, art, music, philosophy and history of the past 100 years. The course draws upon the arts of African American, Native American, Asian American, Anglo and Latino cultures as avenues for understanding issues of race, ethnicity, class, and gender as they intersect with mainstream American values in the past 100 years. Students may be required to attend a live performance or museum exhibition that may require an entrance fee.
