    HIT 122 Advanced ICD Coding Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Prerequisite: HIT 120 with a grade of "C" or better Enrollment Limitation: Enrollment is limited to those that have met the program prerequisites and have been formally accepted into the program through the application process. This course provides instruction in advanced coding principles using the current versions of the International Classification of Diseases, Clinical Modification (CM), and Procedural Coding System (PCS). The class will focus on learning and applying higher level coding skills. In addition, the Prospective Payment System (PPS) and Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) will be introduced. Computerized encoders and groupers may be emphasized.
