- EMT 109 Emergency Medical Responder Units: 3 Hours: 36 hours LEC; 54 hours LAB Prerequisite: None. This course is an introduction to the principles and practices of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS). It provides the knowledge and skills needed to integrate the care provided through the EMS system.
