Students will explore typical and atypical development from birth through adolescence, learn to identify common disorders (e.g., genetic, sensory, emotional, and behavioral), and understand the referral process. Emphasis is placed on collaborating effectively with IEP/IFSP teams and families to develop tailored support plans. The course highlights instructional strategies (e.g., UDL, MTSS) and incorporates culturally responsive, anti-bias practices to create inclusive learning environments for children with diverse needs.
