Advisory: ECE 312; ECE 307 Transferable: CSU General Education: Local GE L7B C-ID: C-ID EDUC 200 This course introduces students to teaching diverse learners in today's contemporary schools, Kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12). Students will complete three hours weekly (minimum of 45 hours per semester) at a field placement in a college- approved local public elementary classroom under the supervision of a credentialed teacher. Course content covers teaching as a profession and career, historical and philosophical foundations of the United States education system, contemporary educational issues, California's content standards and frameworks, and teacher performance standards, as well as observation skills, communication skills, diversity and social issues. Students' fieldwork experiences will integrate and apply the course content.
