The emphasis is on nonverbal communication. Course topics will be presented in a culturally rich context, providing students with the opportunity to develop an understanding and appreciation for Deaf culture. Topics include grammatical features such as adjective descriptors, differentiation between cardinal/ordinal numbers, contrastive structure, temporal aspect markers and temporal sequencing, conversational skills, narrative skills, and discussions with peers.
