- CMT 300 Introduction to Construction Plans and Specifications Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Prerequisite: None. Advisory: Concurrent enrollment in CMT 310 Transferable: CSU This is an introductory course in how to read building plans and specifications. Intended for both the homeowner and the builder, the course gives emphasis to building plan symbols, interpretation of shop and field drawings, and requirements for obtaining building permits.
