    CISC 310 Introduction to Computer Information Science Units: 3 Computer Information Science 245 COSUMNES RIVER COLLEGE 2025-2026 Official Catalog Hours: 54 hours LEC Prerequisite: None. Advisory: Students should be familiar with basic functions of word processing, spreadsheet, and web browser software applications, or they should have successfully completed a Computer Technology course in middle or high school. Transferable: CSU; UC C-ID: C-ID BUS 140; C-ID ITIS 120 This course covers fundamental concepts related to information technology and its applications in organizations and society. The student will learn about digital devices, computer software, networks, cybersecurity, information systems, database management, and related applied ethical considerations. The student will apply concepts by using hands-on projects to develop computer-based solutions.
