Architecture Design Technology 163 COSUMNES RIVER COLLEGE 2025-2026 Official Catalog Art CRC's art curriculum offers introductory and intermediate level courses in painting, figure drawing, digital art, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking and design, as well as courses in art appreciation and art history. Through the program's art theory and art practice classes, students develop an awareness and understanding of the materials, tools, rationale and significance of art in society. The art curriculum's critical thinking and technical skills components encourage students to utilize independent thought processes and problem solving. The degree is comprised of lower division coursework typically required by CSU institutions. Students must complete the following Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) requirements: (1) Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University, including both of the following: (A) The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal- GETC). (B) A minimum of 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district. (2) Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0. ADTs also require that students must earn a "C" or better in all courses required for the major or area of emphasis. A "P" (Pass) grade is also an acceptable grade for courses in the major if the course is taken on a Pass/No Pass basis. Upon successful completion of the degree requirements, students will be guaranteed admission to the CSU system with junior status and will not have to repeat lower division coursework.
